2010 Lady Luck Speedway Black Flag Rules

Play fair and they won’t apply to you.

Racing is a competitive sport and we all want to win.
It is also an expensive sport and a lot of us race on shoe string budgets because of low, or no sponsorship.
Over the past few years the respect has not been there and a lot of cars and drivers have been lost due to wrecks they can't afford to repair. Senseless lack of respect has been the cause of a lot of these wrecks. Retaliation and OVER aggressive driving has also played a part.
The black flag will be used more to control these things and other problems that have been occurring. At Lady Luck Speedway we want all of our drivers to be able to bring their car back the next week. It's a race, not a demolition derby.
Drivers and fans must understand that enough contact and wrecks will happen without forcing the issue. Driver’s skills are more impressive to see when they PASS and RACE side by side CLEAN. 'RUBBING' is racing but blatant aggressive contact is unacceptable. i.e. Forcing someone out of the groove or their line.
A sleeved black flag is a warning and means you are doing something wrong, if you continue you will receive a waving black flag. Leave the track. No points. No pay.
If you are racing for Local or National points; pay attention because if you break the rules you will lose points. NO FAVORITISM.........
As a driver if you do something you feel 'might' be wrong you better pay close attention to the flag man to see if a warning is present.
Accidents will happen we all know that. Some ‘accidents’ will warrant a black flag as well.
At Lady Luck Speedway there are several officials posted around the track and they are all capable of making the call or alerting the flag man.

Study the black flag rules so you are aware of what we are looking for.

A warning or a black flag will be thrown for the following:

  1. Absolutely no retaliation will be tolerated…
  2. No bump to pass. Don’t knock someone out of the line just because you think you are faster If you are seen attempting this you will get a warning, if you continue or complete the pass you will be black flagged. This rule will be very strict in the open wheel classes.
  3. No rooting or forcing someone up the track by using your right front fender or tire.
  4. No chop blocking.  If the car in the low line is as low as he or she can go and you come down and hit them, your at fault and could receive a black flag.
  5. Hitting someone from behind resulting in them spinning. Accident or not. (Traffic can affect this call.)
  6. No body slamming. i.e. Entering the turn to fast below someone and sliding up and hitting them causing a spin or a flat or taking a position.
  7. No using the inside berm to make a pass. The berm is off limits except for emergencies.
  8. No spinning your tires or speeding through the infield or pits. Re-enter the racing surface safely.
  9. Three spins and you are out.  This includes going into the infield three times during a race.
  10. No forcing the caution. This includes spinning out and waiting for the yellow flag to be thrown with the engine still running.
  11. Obscene gestures to track officials or spectators will not be tolerated.

Some incidents may be seen as hard racing, but don’t expect that.

These rules are intended to preserve car count and tempers.

If you are unsure about ANY of these rules, do NOT hesitate to contact an Lady Luck Speedway Official.
