2010 PURE STOCK CLASS RULES Cruiser Class 108" Minimum wheel base. Novas and Cameras are allowed.
This division is intended to provide the racer with an economical means to race. If you desire to modify your engine or car to circumvent or exceed these rules, choose another division that allows such modifications. Dominating cars will be inspected at irregular intervals to ensure compliance. This division will conform to the existing track, pit, safety and flag rules. If an owner or driver feels an inspection committee has not performed adequately in finding rule violations they may file a protest against the other car or driver under existing track regulations. All penalties and sanctions apply.
CAR RULES: If these rules don't specify changes/modifications that can be made to your race car, then you can't do it. Anything you think might be questionable should be cleared with the rules committee or track official.
1. Bodies on will be stock. No after market or fabricated rear spoiler. 2. Front and rear stock bumpers only. Bumpers may not exceed width of tires and there will be no sharp edges. No bracing fenders. 3. All dark colored cars will have light/bright colored bumpers. 4. All upholstery, plastic, glass and trim bust be removed from the car. No rearview mirrors. You must have heavy screen with 3 vertical bars in windshield area. 5. 7" metal visor may be welded or bolted at top of windshield area. 6. All cars must have welded 4 post roll cage no less than 1 1/2" OD x. 095 round tubing with an X-brace. Must have halo bar. Minimum three (3) horizontal bars and three (3) vertical bars required in driver door. Minimum of two (2) horizontal bars and two (2) vertical bars in passenger door. If bolting roll cage to frame you must use 2 1/4" x 6" x 6" steel plates, one welded to cage tubing and other under floor pan and bolted to top plate with 4 bolts. NO MUFFLER TUBING, ALUMINUM TUBING, GALVANIZED PIPE OR LIGHT GAUGE STEEL ALLOWED. Driver side window net is mandatory. Racing seat or high back bucket seat with head rest required. 7. Must run full stock interior floor pan. 8. Seat belts: Minimum 5-point restraint system with 3" wide quick release harness with lap belts that cross driver's hips at 45 degrees to perpendicular. Lap belts bolted to chassis below and behind seat. Shoulder belts bolt below shoulder level to roll cage. 9. Bracing of radiator support allowed. No tubing larger than 1 1/2" OD x.095 round tubing and cannot extend outside of radiator frame. Bracing must be behind grill and may extend back to roll cage. 10. All cars must have a fully charged fire extinguisher mounted in bracket and accessible from inside or outside of the car. 11. OPTIONAL: Nerf bars/ Rub rails cannot exceed 1 1/2" tubing and cannot extend more than 21/2” outside of the car body. Must be turned into car body, rounded at corners and cannot extend into wheel wells. 12. NUMBERS ON CAR DOORS MUST BE 20 INCHES TALL AND 4 INCHES WIDE. 13. NUMBERS ON CAR ROOF MUST BE READABLE FROM THE RIGHT SIDE. 14. FRONT AND REAR LINE UP NUMBERS MUST BE AT LEAST 6 INCHES TALL, PREFERABLY 8 INCHES TALL. 15. No driver compartment enclosures allowed. This is for safety reasons.
Engine:
Engine must be the same manufacturer as body of car. (GM to GM, Ford to Ford). It must be mounted in stock position. It may be rebuilt with minimum machine work. Heads must be stock OEM cast iron and remain in as cast condition. Block must be cast iron and remain in as cast condition. No performance cam may be used. Must have smooth idle. Valve Lifter and Rocker assembly must be OEM. True roller timing chains. Stroke must remain stock. Stock OEM cast iron intake manifolds only. Exhaust manifolds or headers. Stock water pump. 15” vacuum at 800 RPM UPDATED 5-1-2010 - No Vortex Heads
Ignition:
Must have master kill switch accessible from inside and outside the car. Must be labeled ON / OFF. All cars must start and move forward and reverse. Enclosed battery box with lid is required and must be bolted, chained or strapped to floor. Distributor, coil and related components must be OEM or stock replacement. Carburetor: Stock OEM cast iron intake must remain in as cast condition. 2 or 4 barrel carburetor - must be OEM for year & make of car. Adapter plate from 4 barrel to 2 barrel carburetor allowed. Must have two (2) throttle return springs. Brakes: Factory stock braking system including master cylinder. 4 working wheel brakes required, no independent wheel braking system. Stock Pedals only.
Transmission:
Must be stock OEM. No modifications. All cars must start and move forward and reverse. Automatic: Must have stock OEM torque converter. OPTIONAL: Transmission Cooler. Standard: Must have stock flywheel and stock OEM clutch. You must have a 1/4" x 2" loop, or chain no more than 6" from front U-joint.
Suspension:
Must remain stock with OEM or stock replacement parts. Must be mounted in stock location. Factory original mounting required on all suspension. UPDATED: 10-19-2009 - Quick Steer Optional. Fuel cell: Fuel cell vents, including cap vent, must have check valves. If fuel cell does not have aircraft style positive seal filler neck/cap system - a flapper, spring or ball type filler rollover valve is required. If you are running a fuel cell you MUST follow this rule. 5 gallon GI can, or boat tank allowed. (fuel cell recommended). Fuel tank must have screw on cap. Must be mounted in trunk, secured with 2" metal strap and separated from driver area by fire wall. Must have check valve in vent line. Manual fuel pumps only. Gasoline only.
Rear end:
Must remain stock with OEM or stock replacement parts. Must be mounted in stock location. Factory original mounting required on all suspension. May be locked. 9-inch Ford rear end OK
Wheels/Tires: All tires must be track approved.
Only steel wheels allowed. Maximum 8" wide. Must be light/bright colored. i.e. white, yellow, etc. 1" lug nuts mandatory. If stock wheel is used on right front it must be reinforced. American or Hoosier asphalt take offs (27x10x15) or (27x8x15) I.M.C.A Stock Car tires allowed are O.K. 60 or 70 series DOT radials are OK. No sport mod. ,mud or snow, nobbies or cleats, also allowed are the previous IMCA Modified tires McCreary and American Racer, which are the ones now illegal for the IMCA Modifeds. No other racing tires may be used.
UPDATED: 10-19-2009 - Weight Rule 3,200 lbs. after Feature with driver.
Track transponders will be used to score the Pure Stock race. A bracket to hold the transponder should be welded on the car under the hood lower than 24" from the ground and having no metal underneath it.
All drivers must wear driving suite.
INFRACTION OF ANY RULES STATED IN THIS BOOK WILL RESULT IN LOSS OF POINTS, MONEY, AND AWARDS FOR THE NIGHT. DON’T COME BACK UNTIL YOUR CAR IS LEGAL. And remember . . . IF IT DOESN'T SAY YOU CAN, DON'T DO IT!!!
